Strength and conditioning classes and HYROX training in Paya Lebar, Singapore

The East just got stronger. GRITYARD is now on Privilee, bringing coach-led strength and conditioning to Paya Lebar, with one complimentary class each week included in your membership.

Programmes are designed by former national athletes, with training for all levels and a schedule that works around early starts, lunch breaks and after-work plans. Most classes take 45 minutes, so you can get your training in without giving it the whole evening. For HYROX preparation, there are dedicated classes and weekly 90-minute prep sessions too.

It’s Privilee’s first dedicated strength studio in the East, giving you another place to make strength a regular thing closer to home or work.

Athlete-inspired training for your everyday routine

GRITYARD describes its approach as “built by athletes, designed for you”. The idea is to take training methods used in sport and adapt them for everyday people, with programmes that develop mobility, strength and endurance.

You don’t need a race date or a sporting background to train here. You might want to get more confident with strength work, improve your conditioning or have someone guide you through a workout after a day at your desk. The coach-led format gives you structure, with attention to how you move as well as how much you do.

The programming follows five athletic performance pillars: strength, power, agility, core and endurance. Each class has a different focus, giving you a clearer idea of what you’re booking and how it fits your goals.

On the schedule

There’s more to the timetable than one style of strength class. Pick the focus that suits your next session, then look for its name in the Privilee app.

Strength: BUILD and PERFORM

BUILD focuses on high-volume training, accessory work and hypertrophy – training aimed at developing muscle. It’s a good option if you want to build muscle and establish a strength foundation, with expert guidance for beginners and experienced gym-goers.

PERFORM emphasises maximum strength and explosive power. Dynamic movements and high-intensity training support athletic performance, with a focus on getting stronger for sport and everyday life.

Strength programming includes total-body and upper-body options, so you can choose a session that complements the rest of your training week.

Conditioning: METCON and FORTITUDE

METCON is the shorter-burst option: repeated periods of high-effort exercise that challenge your conditioning and endurance. Expect an intense session that gets you breathing hard.

FORTITUDE takes a different approach, using mid-intensity training over longer periods to develop stamina and mental resilience. The focus is on sustaining effort, helping you keep going for longer.

Both complement strength work. If you’re comfortable lifting but want to work on maintaining effort, this is a useful place to start looking on the schedule.

Power, agility and core

RAPID FIRE focuses on power through short, explosive bursts of effort that challenge your anaerobic capacity. It’s for working on strength expressed at speed.

ATHLETICA uses dynamic, sport-inspired exercises to develop agility, coordination and movement efficiency. It gives you a chance to work on body control alongside your strength and conditioning.

BASE CAMP brings the focus to your core and foundational strength, with athlete-inspired exercises centred on movement efficiency and injury prevention. It’s an option for beginners and experienced gym-goers who want to give those foundations more attention.

Got HYROX on your mind?

GRITYARD is an Official HYROX Training Club, with dedicated HYROX classes and weekly 90-minute prep sessions if you want more time to work on race preparation.

Its five training pillars underpin the approach. Strength supports demanding loaded movements, while power, agility and core work help with movement control and efficiency. Endurance training develops your ability to sustain effort as the session goes on.

There’s a racing community here too. GRITYARD has shared the story of three regulars and Head Trainer Yao Xiang finishing on the podium at HYROX Singapore. Training together carries through to race day, with familiar faces alongside you.

You can also choose HYROX training without entering a race. It’s another option for building strength and conditioning, with a clear focus for your workout.

A studio that keeps the focus on training

The industrial-style space suits the sessions: a boutique group-training setting where the emphasis is on coaching, form and technique. GRITYARD's own member feedback regularly highlights trainers taking time to explain movements and correct posture.

For a first visit, that guidance can help you get familiar with the exercises. If you already train regularly, it gives you another pair of eyes on your technique.

Showers are available, although there are only a small number, so allow time if you’re heading straight to work afterwards. Bring your own towel. Ice baths are available for S$12 as an optional paid add-on; they aren’t included in your complimentary class benefit.

Who would love it here?

If you like having a plan when you walk into a workout, GRITYARD could be a good fit. Beginners get coaching to help build confidence, while experienced gym-goers can focus on strength, conditioning or HYROX preparation. And if you live or work around Paya Lebar, a 45-minute class could become a regular slot in your week.
